The Center for Adolescent Health & the Law works to create a legal and policy environment that promotes the health of adolescents and their access to health care through conducting research, analyzing legal and policy issues, preparing publications, providing training and technical assistance, and engaging in advocacy. The Center is a project of Advocates for Youth and directed by Abigail English, JD. The NCYL is a private, non-profit law office with the principle function of assisting attorneys and other youth advocates in addressing the complex legal problems that face poor children and adolescents and their families through providing legal information and technical assistance, conducting ongoing training programs, and serving as co-counsel in cases with broad impact. This site contains descriptions of Center activities; a bibliography of Center reports, papers and analyses (including adolescent health and juvenile justice), some of which are downloadable in Adobe Acrobat format; and a list of Web links to public policy organizations and clearinghouses, state & federal government agencies, and California legislative resources. |
