The Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine/Carlotta Simons Diabetes Award in Adolescent Health was defined in 2000 with the first award given in 2001. This award is supported through a donation by a physician deeply committed to adolescent health and well-being. The award is directed at promoting advances in the health of young people with diabetes mellitus and their families through patient-centered service, research, or education. The award is open to health providers and/or institutions.
