Overview
At SAM’s Annual Meeting innovative research, clinical workshops and discussion forums are presented for attendees of diverse disciplines and from around the world.
SAM members also help to plan and coordinate professional adolescent health education programs - in all regions of the United States and across the globe. These programs are directed at specialists in the field as well as other interested health profesionals aiming to acquire skills to meet the important needs of adolescents.

Many potential interventions for adolescents involve trade-offs between desirable and undesirable consequences. Unless clinicians are aware of the best estimates of these desirable and undesirable consequences, and the uncertainty associated with these estimates, they are in at a considerable disadvantage in helping their patients to choose between competing alternatives. Evidence-based approaches to clinical decision-making provide a framework for addressing this issue.

5:30 a.m. - 6:30 a.m. Tone Your Body, Calm Your Mind
This is a three day mini-course offered on Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings. The first 30 minutes of each session will feature intense exercise lead by Dr. Robinson. The exercise format will combine aerobic and stretching techniques. The goal of this session is to awaken and work the body in preparation for the day’s task ahead. The second 30 minute session will be yoga and meditation. This will be led by Drs. Schubiner and Sawni. Dr. Sawni will lead the yoga and Dr. Schubiner the mind/body meditation techniques. Participants will learn yoga and meditation techniques that can be utilized on a personal level or with patients. Participants should wear casual exercise or loose-fitting clothes and bring sneakers. NO CME/CEU/CES will be awarded for these sessions.
