About Washington DC

Washington DC – Also known as The District, is the capital of the United States and is not part of any state. It's situated between Northern Virginia and Maryland and right on the Potomac River. March is a fantastic time of year to visit DC, with weather in the 50s and 60s and backing up to the Cherry Blossom Festival as the colorful trees begin to bloom.

The SAHM meeting hotel is situated in downtown DC, near Chinatown, buzzing H Street and the Verizon Center, home to the Wizards and Capitals. It's a short walk to the National Mall, a wide, two mile stretch of grass fields and running paths lined with Smithsonian museums, restaurants, and flanked by the US Capitol, the White House, the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. You're also a quick cab ride to many of DC's best neighborhoods.
