Insurance coverage of addiction treatment remains severely limited in both the populations and services that are covered. The absence of mandated coverage in all health plans means that some health plans may continue to choose not to provide coverage for addiction treatment, continuing to deny access to patients who need it. This website provides a list of billing codes.
 
Module: Challenge of Working with Payers: What You Need to Know About Payer Limitations on Medications for Opioid Addiction

This module explores the significant variability across payers for coverage of medications to treat opioid addiction, the need to be familiar with these differences for optimal patient care, and promote the need to counsel patients about all of the available medications as part of treatment planning.



The goal of the AHRQ-funded project, Youth Providers 2.0 (YP2.0), is to improve the use of evidence-based practices among health care providers caring for adolescents and young adults. To accomplish this goal, SAHM will engage in a number of activities using new media to improve the dissemination of patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) to health professionals.
