The major focus of the Society for Adolescent Medicine is to promote the

HOFMANN VISITING PROFESSOR IN ADOLESCENT
MEDICINE AND HEALTH
The SAM Visiting Professor in Adolescent Medicine was established in
1986 with the first award being given in 1987. The Society for
Adolescent Medicine offers this annual event to provide an educational
experience in Adolescent Medicine for a group of health care providers
who may not otherwise have the opportunity to benefit from the
Professor's expertise. In March 2003, this award was re-named the
Society for Adolescent Medicine/Adele D. Hofmann Visiting Professor in
Adolescent Medicine and Health. The award is financially supported by
Dr. Hofmann's children, Annie Gardiner and Peter Hofmann.

ADOLESCENT HEALTH
The Society for Adolescent Medicine/Carlottta Simons Diabetes Award in
Adolescent Health was defined in 2000 with the first award given in
2001. This award is supported through a donation by a physician deeply
committed to adolescent health and well-being. The award is directed at
promoting advances in the health of young people with diabetes mellitus
and their families through patient-centered service, research, or
education. Award open to health providers and/or institutions.
