About SAHM

Regional Chapters

Regional Chapters enable the Society to expand its scope by providing a forum for professionals who serve adolescents in diverse capacities in a geographically limited area. Many Chapters hold regular educational seminars, and act as resources for public education, or referral of adolescents and their families, and for advocacy of important local and regional issues. Chapter presidents meet annually and make recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Society. Membership in the national organization is not a prerequisite for membership in a Regional Chapter; however we encourage Regional Chapter members who are not SAHM members to become SAHM members. Click here to review a copy of the Chesapeake Regional Chapter Constitution in PDF format and to more fully understand the workings of an active SAHM Regional Chapter. Also available is an editable Word 97-2003 version of the Chesapeake Regional Chapter Constitution for other regional chapters to use as a template for their own constitution.
