Academy
of Eating Disorders
The
AED is a multidisciplinary professional organization focusing
on anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder,
and related disorders. This site includes organizational
information; dowloadable newsletters; practice guidelines
(in progress); and links to other eating disorder sites.
Anorexia
Nervosa and Related Eating Disorders, Inc.
ANRED is a nonprofit organization
developed by mental health professionals experienced in the
field. The site provides detailed consumer information
about anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder,
compulsive exercising, and other less well-known food and
weight disorders.
Eating
Disorder Referral and Information Center
Edreferral provides a wide range of
general information about the treatment and prevention of
eating disorders. It also provides referrals to practitioners,
treatment facilities, and support groups for those needing
assistance in finding resources in their area. Also
offers a modest scholarship program for limited treatment
of selected individuals.
Eating
Disorders Awareness and Prevention, Inc.
EDAP
is a national, nonprofit organization promoting the awareness
and prevention of eating disorders by encouraging positive
self-esteem and size acceptance. Founded by a group
of mental health professionals experienced in the field.
EDAP provides educational resources on eating disorders and
their prevention for schools, health professionals, community
organizations, and individuals. This site describes programs
and activities; gives consumer information about prevention,
diagnosis and treatment; and lists publications.
