Academy of Pediatrics
This site provides a wide range of on-line information about
AAP activities including policy statements, immunization schedules,
public education brochures, advocacy initiatives, the Future
of Pediatric Education II project, and AAP publications. Abstracts
of the print edition of Pediatrics and the full text
of the electronic edition also are available without charge.
Bright
Futures
Bright Futures, from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau,
provides comprehensive guidelines for the health care of infants,
children and adolescents. The full text of this document is
available on line.
Child
Trends, Inc.
Child Trends, Inc., a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization,
collects and analyzes data on children, youth, and families.
Particular focus is given to teenage pregnancy and childbearing,
the effects of welfare and poverty on children, and parenting
and family processes. This site provides abstracts of current
and past projects, a publication list, some limited "facts-at-a-glance",
and links to a number of related sites.

People 2010
This site provides the full text and related information on
the DHHS Healthy People 2010 goals and objectives.
Maternal
and Child Health Bureau
This site provides information about MCHB programs including
the Office of Adolescent Health; details about MCHB's current
competitive grant cycle; a list of publications, some of which,
such as Bright Futures (a guide for well child and
adolescent health care), are available on-line; and links
to related Web sites.
Maternal
and Child Health Information Resource Center
The MCHIRC assists MCH agencies gather, analyze, and use data
for policy-making and planning. A number of downloadable
publications and reports are available online including Child
Health USA (the administration's annual report on
the health status and service needs of America's children),
Maternal and Child Health Promotion; Trend
Analysis and Interpretation, the Model School
Health Information System, and a series on economics
in MCH programs. A schedule of upcoming DataSpeak audio conferences
featuring special topics related to MCH data and a link to
the DataSpeak site for accessing archived programs also is
available.
National
Center for Education in Maternal Child Health
Affiliated
with Georgetown University's Public Policy Institute, NCEMCH
provides health care professionals with information about
resources, programs, and policy issues on maternal and child
health. Services include reference assistance, customized
searches, referrals, and interlibrary loans. This site includes
an online library catalog; selected annotated bibliographies;
the full text of Bright Futures; MCH publication lists;
databases of programs funded by foundations, businesses, and
government agencies; information on Title V block grants;
and a database of related organizations.
National
Maternal Child Health Clearinghouse
This site includes a list of MCH Clearinghouse publications,
some of which are downloadable. While a majority of these
publications address younger children exclusively, a number
are relevant to adolescents as well such as Americas Children:
Key Indicators of Child Well-being, Parenting School-Age Children
and Adolescents, and Americas Children: Health Insurance and
Access to Care. Other site contents include state-by-state
MCH resource contact info; and an extensive list of links
to other maternal and child health Web sites.
