This year, SAHM is interested in the following topics, though all topics will be considered:
  • Vaping-associated acute lung injury
  • Youth gun violence, both international and in the United States
  • Self-managed medication abortion
  • Cross-cultural youth
  • Hepatitis C treatment
Hot Topic presentations are each 15 minutes in length with 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions. All Hot Topic submissions will be peer-reviewed by 20 program committee members.
Review/Scoring Criteria include:
  • “Hotness”- new or recent developments or particularly relevant since the last SAHM meeting
  • Significance of content to adolescent and young adult health and medicine
  • Innovative session content and/or inclusion of adolescent & young adult voices
  • Clarity of proposed content & learning objectives
  • Link to the conference theme - “Transforming Risk to Wellness”
  • Supports SAHM’s goal to be inclusive of diverse populations and nationalities
